Remember to trust the process

Are the words that I every day live by.  This fall has so far been a major life-changing period for me. Luckily everything has turned out just fine.  Yeah so, I got into a international business university where I am now  going to focus on marketing and communications, I’ve met so many new people and made a lot of new amazing like-minded friends, moved to Helsinki with my two new roommates, got a new job. All these things are something I am super excited, grateful and happy for.. Changes have always been something in I really look forward to. Don’t get me wrong, it’s never just that simple and easy.  Whatever you see on social media is only a small part of someones life. You don’t that often get to see the ‘boring part’ or the hard work and patience behind the surface. 🙂

Luckily I love being busy, organized and getting stuff done. It’s very helpful haha.

As I was travelling almost the whole summer, there is nothing better than settling down for a while. I’m so so in love with fall. Nicely smelling candles, mellow mornings and cozy sweaters sound so much better than summer or heat right now. Who is with me..?

I am also flying to Copenhagen for the first time this friday because of my new job! So excited to go and see the city. I will promise to keep you updated for what we will be doing there!!

My teddybear coat is from Mango AW18 collection (HERE)

Welcome to my favorite place on earth. Compared to last year, this time the experience was quite different. We packed our backpacks which included a water bottle, a blanket, some tuna fish and a piece of bread. We bought ferry tickets from Patra to Sami, Kefalonia (round trip costs about 34€/person) and hit the road by foot. We didn’t have a lot of money with us and all we knew is that we have one destination we need to get to- Myrtos beach. We basically hitch hiked 2 days in a row and met amazing people that helped us. Something I’ve learned from last years trip is that being spontaneous and not worrying too much is the best thing you can actually do.

So we arrived to Sami, ate some 2.5€ gyros and started to hitch hike. We made it to Myrtos beach (about 12km from the harbour city Sami)  with 2 different cars. As I probably mentioned in my earlier post, it’s totally safe to hitch hike in Greece. I’m not sure if I would do it alone tho. But super safe with friends. The other car that picked us up was a brand new big ass Mercedes Benz mini bus and the driver was a 19 year old local who was kind enough to help us to get to Myrtos. He was super funny because he wasn’t that good at speaking english haha.. we still make fun about him because he said ”look” after his every sentence in a really funny accent. He also offered to take us to a big big party on the other side of the island that was supposed to happen the next night but we skipped that party because we had company joining us in Kefalonia the next day. No regrets tho, because something wonderful happened the next day….

Arriving to Myrtos beach, this was the view waiting for us

Aaahhh. I couldn’t believe I was back at my happy place where I left my heart a year ago. Turquoise blue sea, the most incredible waves I’ve ever seen and beautiful rocks at the beach. We had already earlier made the decision to sleep at the beach on the sand. Little did we know that it will be freezing cold at night.. we pretty much didn’t sleep at all because it was so cold. I had about 50 mosquito bites in the morning. I’m not even kidding! It was horrible haha.. but, we stayed positive and made jokes about that night. When the sun came up, the warmth felt like heaven. So we had about 4 hour long nap at the beach in the morning because we were just frustrated from the night..

We packed our bags and continued our journey back to Sami and guess what.. ofcourse a big black mini bus picks us up once again hahah. Might sound creepy but the people were really friendly. We met up with our friends Alexandros and Nicolas from last years trip to Lefkada island. The boys told us that they know a great beach in Kefalonia called Antisamos, where we could sleep on the next night. So, we continued with our hitch hiking and surprise surprise… once again a small van stopped to pick us up on our way to Antisamos beach. It turned out that the guy that picked us up was a worker from the Antisamos beach club. Thanks to that, we actually managed to get ourselves a huuuuge upgrade from sleeping on the sand to sleeping on those beautiful princess-vibes cozy looking beach beds with white curtains. We almost cried of happiness that day..

We stayed up pretty late just talking about life, catching up and enjoying the moment. Funny how the power of the universe can lead you to the exact place that you need to be. By the end of this trip I felt another level of gratitude inside me.

The next morning we got up at 6am and hit the ferry back to Patras in the morning because my plane left back to Helsinki the day after that.

Have you ever visited Greece and what are your experiences? Have you ever hitch-hiked?

This post includes a lot of HUJI and polaroid pictures. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

I told myself not to have any high expectations of Santorini because I know I have already seen more beautiful places in the world. Santorini is a small island in Greece, about 12km wide and 20km long. It’s about 150km from the popular party island Mykonos where celebrities go for a vacation. Thira (Santorini) island itself is veeery dry and in my opinion the nature isn’t anything special. In the summertime it is filled with tourists since it’s the only time of the year anyone actually visits the island because it’s pretty cold during the winter time. That’s pretty bad because it really is blooming of tourists.

Santorini is known for the beautiful panoramic view filled with white houses built on top of hills in the city Fira. There are a lot of expensive restaurants in the area. I think me and the girls went for a coffee in the evening a few times and we all paid about 5-6€ for just a coffee… not nice at all. Although, pita gyros is 2,50€ everywhere in Greece so that’s nice.

There is beautiful places to see and nice things to experience in Santorini. One of my friend told me not to miss the sunset in Oia, Santorini. It was beautiful and the view was amazing, but, I’ve seen much prettier sunsets in Greece.. The best ones happen to be in Patras. Black sand beaches were something that I’ve never seen before! That really was a positive surprise.

We stayed at a really nice apartment called ”Alafouzos Studios” about 15min ride from downtown Fira. That cost us about 450€ for 3 nights and 4 days for four people in total. But the apartment was so worth it! It was everything we needed, had a nice pool, beach at 3min walking and a local mini market near us (which was really expensive as well). We pretty much didn’t eat out in Santorini, because we had a kitchen of our own so we just bought some groceries and made food ourselves.

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

This happened.. we got ”kicked out” of our apartment, because we were too stupid not to realize that check out is at 12:00am and we have a whole day ahead before our flight.. so, we kind of moved from our room to by the pool and lived there hahaha.

We hitch hiked a lot in Santorini because Greek people are really helpful and trustworthy. In my opinion, hitch hiking should be a common thing anywhere in the world.. We also used the local taxi. Unfortunately, it was a big disappointment because they have fixed prices and anywhere you want to go, you have to pay 20€ for the trip.. We used about 80€ of our money just to go with a taxi.. it was also very difficult for us to go with the local bus, because Greek people are reeeallly bad with timing. Sometimes, the local bus wouldn’t come at all so we waited unpatiently for it for an hour. The ticket cost 1.80€ to anywhere you wanted to go in the island.

Thank you, Santorini <3

Dubai shit. Dubai whips. Fancy cars, luxurious yachts and rich lifestyle comes to my head when I first think about Dubai. And it sure was beyond my expectations. You don’t really go there just to have a beach vacation, you want to experience the whole thing! There is a LOT to do. The thing is, you got to have money to spend to go there. Just tickets from Helsinki to Dubai starting from 400€, hotels in the city cost a lot etc.. so it sure is not a low budget country. On the other hand, the Dubai has the tallest building in the world, the most expensive cars and hotels and so on.. it was beautiful.

I would have never ever thought that I get the chance to visit such a special country so young. I did get lucky because I was invited there for work, so I didn’t really need a big budget of my own. We had a couple of long and hectic days full of filming and working, but we also took a few days off just to lay by the pool, enjoy and smoke some shisha which is a must to do cultural thing in Dubai. Also bought one back to home!

Chasing wild camels was quite a thing to experience. My leopard print dress is from the brand Neo Noir / Dots Store Helsinki.

PS! Dotsilla tällä hetkellä huikeet alet, käy tsekkaa nettisivut tai paikan päältä fredalta!

4AM Dubai desert morning sunrises and photoshoots. Since we had a film/photo trip, we made a lot of content in one week. One of the hard things was waking up at 3am to catch the sunrise by the desert. We did it a couple of times and it was so worth it!

Another pretty pretty Neo Noir dress. All photos by Markus Watson.

ABU DHABI. We visited the huge Emirates Palace and Markus took some photos of me by the fountain. We were supposed to visit the Grand Mosque Center which I was VERY excited about, but since it was Ramadan we couldn’t do it at that time.. At least I got a reason to go back to beautiful Abu Dhabi.

Black skirt is from Neo Noir, once again (guess my favorite brand lol).

Käväisin muutama päivä sitten Peili Hiussalissa (Freda 16) ihanan Jenni Stubbe:n kylässä. Kuvasta näet ilman pidempää puhetta jo upean  lopputuloksen..

Kerronpas kuitenkin hieman koko prosessista 🙂

Ennen mitään hairtalk‘ia mulle tarjoiltiin kunnon ruokatarjoilut ja Peili Hiussalin omaa Verigreippi- Prosecco Sorbettia joka muuten maistui aivan taivaalliselle.. ai että!

Processed with VSCO with dog1 preset

Processed with VSCO with dog1 preset

Processed with VSCO with a4 preset

Processed with VSCO with dog1 preset

Mun ihan lemppareita on hopeamaskit. Hopeashamppoosta en niinkään pidä, koska se kuivattaa hiusta sen verran että mielummin käytän maskia/hoitoainetta jotta jäis ihanan pehmee lopputulos pesun jälkeen.

Processed with VSCO with a4 preset

Käytän Maria Nilan hopeamaskia joka ihanasti viilentää tukkaa! (saatavilla esim. Peili Hiussalista paikan päältä)

Ahh I’m in love, kiitos paljon Jenni!!!

Kannattaa kuitenkin aina kysäistä kampaajalta juuri ne tuotteet, jotka sopii just sulle 🙂

Oikein ihanaa tukkakesää kaikille <3

I’ve been feeling myself, lately. And I’m loving it.

It just seems that everything I’ve been questioning earlier now comes to sense and I’m super happy for the future. I had a few days off of work and I went to Estonia to see Katerina and my family.

ANDANTE, Helsinki/ Fredrikinkatu 20

The atmosphere there was cozy and latte was good. It was a really instafriendly cafe but the bread we had was burnt and in my opinion there was just not enough food and too expensive for me. For vegan milk options they only had oat milk.

BEST SANDWICHES IN TALLINN. Cozy. Amazing. I literally go there every time I visit my hometown and to me it’s luxury that the cafe is right next to my ship terminal. Great coffee, service, food (cheap) and omg those sandwiches (especially mozarella & chicken one) taste like heaven and it costs only 3-5€. They also have my favorite soy milk.

Had my first sushi bowl there. Fell in love. So freaking good and healthy at the same time.  Costs 12€ but life in Finland ain’t cheap.

Starbucks/ Helsinki

It’s freaking expensive but the coffee is really good and they have like every option there actually is for vegan milk. They have different beans etc. I usually only stop there to take my coffee on the go. My coffee is usually around 3-5€.

So cheap! The coffee is ok but not the best I’ve had. Great options for breakfast. Chia puddings, smoothie bowls, raw porridge (my favorite).  I’ve been there 2 times with Marii-Heleen but haven’t really took photos. This smoothie bowl cost me 3€ tho.. totally recommend while in Tallinn.

Can I eat here every day?
